We started celebrating this day since 26th January 1950, when the constitution of our country came into forge, and India became the largest democracy in the world. On this day, a lot of programs are held. The grandest of all the programs is the parade that take place at Rajpath. It is the grand parade. Good morning to all. I am … . Today, we all have gathered here to celebrate 68 years of our Republic Day. And I feel so obliged that i have got this precious chance to narrate the Republic Day speech in front of you all. First of all, I would like to thank all my teachers, who showed their immense trust on me over this speech and gave me this wonderful opportunity to come on this stage and speak something about my beloved country on its great occasion of the successful completion of 68 years of our Republic day.India is a self-governing country since 15th of August 1947, the day it got independence from the British rule on 15th of August 1947 which we celebrate as Independence Day. However, after getting the independence also, India did not have a permanent constitution at that time. The drafting committee presented the constitution’s first draft to the national assembly on November 4, 1947. The national assembly signed the final English and Hindi language versions of the constitution on January 24, 1950, and the Constitution of India came into forge on 26th of January in 1950, the date was chosen as it was the day of “Purna Swaraj”, which was held on 26th January 1930. So we celebrate this day as the Republic Day every year.

The grand event is held at Rajpath in New Delhi. The programs starts after the Prime Minister pay tribute to all the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for our country, at “Amar Jyoti Jawan” following a two minute silence. Then he heads to Rajpath to join other people, where President of the country arrives with the chief guest from other country.  As soon as President arrives Rajpath, flag hoisting is done and soon after that programs start in which all armed forces i.e., Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, dance troops from various states of the country take part. The event ends with the “fly past” by the Indian Air Force, which involves fighter planes of flying past the dais, symbolically saluting the president. These leave trails of smoke in the colors of the Indian flag. The overall program at Rajpath is a grand success.

This day is celebrated, as it gave the people of our country the freedom to govern themselves by choosing a government of their wish. And with the implementation of our constitution, Dr. Rajendra Prasad was chosen as the first President of our sovereign country.

Our freedom fighter gave a lot of sacrifices, so that today we are living freely in this country. So, it is the perfect time to pay tribute to all the freedom fighters for the sacrifices of their lives and should get inspired by them, that we will also serve our country the same way they did. We should learn from them that what is patriotism, and should promise them that we will not let your sacrifice go wasted, and will save our country from every evil.

Our ancestors gave us a glorious past. We need to create the future. This Republic Day, Lead the change and become a real Indian.
