EastEnders’ Whitney vows to expose Gray in newly released footage

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders will see Whitney Dean take matters into her own hands as she is determined to expose Gray Atkins ahead of her marriage to Chelsea Fox.

Whitney (Shona McGarty) recently investigated Gray’s (Toby-Alexander Smith) shady past, leading him to uncover crucial information about the serial killer.

Whitney recently attempted to warn the mother of the bride-to-be, Denise (Diane Parish), who appeared to dismiss Whitney’s claims that Gray could pose a threat to her daughter.

When Whitney went straight to Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) with her suspicion, she didn’t even let her finish and assumed she wanted to snatch a wedding invitation, just telling her to come to the ceremony.

In the recently released footage from the Christmas Day episode, it looks like Whitney will attend the wedding after all, but likely won’t be there to offer her best wishes.

Still determined to expose Gray, she is pictured donning a black dress and bold lipstick for the occasion, bracing for the villain’s calculation.

Recent episodes have seen Whitney begin to piece together the idea that Gray may be behind the murder of his late wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer).

During the womens swap game at the Vic, Eve Unwin (Heather Mary Peace) mentioned a bride who must have played the game with her own father a few years before, causing a revelation for Whitney: it must have been Chantelle trying to ‘get some time away from abusive Gray.

Asked by Whitney, Eve explained that she was taking legal training when she came across the story online, reading it on a forum for domestic violence survivors in an article apparently written by Chantelle.

Will Whitney find the evidence she needs to expose Gray before the wedding?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Christmas Day at 9:35 p.m. on BBC One.
