As if she had worn the wrong outfit in her life.
As if we doubted that Lady Gaga would kill the fashion game as couture royalty in Gucci House, now we have the pictures to prove it. New images from the upcoming biopic feature Gaga in all her fashionable glory as the Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of the fashion mogul Maurizio Gucci who was tried and convicted for orchestrating his assassination. Who Said Crime Can’t Be Beautiful?
The new images show Gaga in a role that will see her claim an Oscar, serving up a variety of looks, including a club outfit reminiscent of Dear in her Studio 54 glory days, as well as a comfy ski suit – seen in the movie trailer – and her extravagant wedding dress with a lace veil. The footage even reveals what appears to be Gaga as Reggiani after her husband’s death, emerging from a sleek black car clad in a fur coat, surrounded by howling paparazzi.
Each look is as extravagant as one might expect from a biopic on the Gucci family, a fashion house that has dominated the industry for a hundred years. (The liberation of Gucci House in November is no coincidence, aligning with the brand’s official 100th anniversary.) and with its star power still radiating since 2018. A star is born, Gaga has more than enough charisma to play the scheming wife Reggiani, who declares in the trailer that she is not “a particularly ethical person, but [she is] fair”.
And of course, Gaga is joined by a host of other award-winning actors to complete the Gucci family, including Adam Pilot like Maurizio Gucci, with Jared leto, Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino, and Salma hayek. With a script by Becky johnston and Roberto Bentivegna made by an Oscar nominee Ridley scott, surely Gucci House will prove that looks can indeed kill.
Gucci House premieres in theaters everywhere on November 24. Discover the new images of Gucci House below.
