Paramount+ shares ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’ teaser and images


During the star trek universe panel last weekend at New York Comic Con, Paramount+ released the official mid-season trailer for Season 1 of its original animated children’s series, Star Trek: Prodigy. The trailer, which was introduced by executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman, was revealed during the panel along with new footage from upcoming episodes.

Also announced, Ronny Cox is joining the cast for Season 1, resuming his Star Trek: The Next Generation role of Admiral Edward Jellico, a promotion from his first star trek character, Captain Jellico.

Star Trek: ProdigyThe mid-season return is scheduled for October 27 on Paramount+ in the US, and October 28 in Latin America, Australia, Italy and the UK After the series’ return, new episodes of the second half of 10 episodes will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays. The series will air later this year in South Korea, Germany, Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland.

The Star Trek: Prodigy part of the star trek The Universe Panel featured a conversation with series voice cast members Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gray and Jameela Jamil, along with executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman, Alex Kurtzman and Rod Roddenberry, and director and producer executive Ben Hibon. Josh Horowitz, MTV host and host of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, served as panel moderator.

Developed by Emmy Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (troll hunters and ninjago), the CG animated series is the first star trek series aimed at younger audiences and follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a larger galaxy in search of a brighter future. These six young outcasts know nothing of the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the star trek franchise – but in their adventures together they will each learn about Starfleet and the ideals it stands for.

In the second half of Season 1, the hopeful crew heads to Starfleet, but their dreams are threatened when they discover the USS Protostar harbors a weapon designed to tear apart the United Federation of Planets. To make matters worse, the USS Dauntless is on the hunt for the Protostar as the real Vice Admiral Janeway is eager to find out what happened to his missing former first officer Chakotay. With these two ships on a collision course and destruction on the horizon, the fate of the Alpha Quadrant hangs in the balance.

The animated television series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio and CBS Studios’ Eye Animation Production, led by Animation President Ramsey Naito; Secret hiding place; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Katie Krentz, Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers alongside co-showrunners Kevin and Dan Hageman. Hibon directs, co-produces and serves as creative lead. Aaron Waltke and Patrick Krebs are also currently co-executive producers.
